I'm getting pretty used to this place!!

So far the trip has been non stop go go go after the first day of rest and recovering from jetlag. The really nice thing about London is that most of the museums are free admission, every day. It’s great to know that even if you only spent half an hour in a museum that your money wasn’t wasted and you don’t feel obligated to stay all day.

So far I have seen the Tate modern, The British Museum, London Museum, The National Gallery, and the Imperial War Museum/Churchill Museum (the only one I paid for.) I have seen Van Gough paintings, the War Bunker (really cool!) the Parthenon pieces that were taken by Lord Elgin, and an incredible display at the London Museum about how the city of London was built up from roman times to the current city.

I cruised through Piccadilly, caught the end of the changing of the guards at Buckingham palace and checked out Trafalgar square. The weather has been pretty nice, the first post said it was looking overcast, but since that day it has been sunny and in the mid 20s.

The hostel I am staying at is not too bad, the location is fantastic – only a few stops away from Piccadilly and major stations on the Piccadilly line. There are some nice stores and lots of restaurants in the area. Unfortunately I picked a pretty bad fish and chips place yesterday…the batter was so hard, it broke the plastic knife with very little force.

First Post!

So, I just arrived in London, England yesterday which is my first stop of my adventure through europe! I will be in London until the 1st of August when I plan on going up to Scotland for a few days, then Dublin. I just got settled yesterday, and I'm just planning my first day of adventures for today. Its really convenient to have my laptop here with me, because it makes planning the trip and communicating with everyone much easier :)
